Style: IPA
Menu description: Grapefruit, piney, citrus-fruity aroma.

Tasting notes: A great IPA that I’ve had many times. It’s the only IPA that I know of with a sweet finish. Top quality here!

Menu description: American style IPA with massive hop and fruit flavor.

Tasting notes: No joke about the massive hop flavor! Pretty good if I’m in the mood for hops. Not much apricot though.

Style: Belgian strong dark ale
Menu description: Strong hops, deep red color, mild fruits.
ABV: 7%
Tasting notes: The description isn’t kidding about strong hops! There’s a very hoppy taste, but absent the bitterness that usually accompanies it. Pretty good, but with a slightly odd aftertaste.

Menu description: Lots of sweet fruits, mainly grapefruit, hint of almonds. Typical IPA bitterness.
ABV: 7.5%
Tasting notes: Moderate scent with hoppy floral notes. Much lighter body than is typical of an IPA, which immediately grabs your attention. It’s a very dry beer. Good, but pretty basic. This is a little too bland for my tastes and the dryness doesn’t help.

Menu description: Grapefruit & pine on the nose nutty dark chocolate backbone.
ABV: 7%
Tasting notes: Fuck the description, it’s all hops, all the time. I don’t taste anything else. There’s also a sort of musky or smoky flavor. But mostly hops.

Menu description: Sweet malts, hint of caramel, some citrus.
ABV: 7%
Tasting notes: Good IPA, slightly more bitter than Sierra Nevada, but also with some faint sweet notes. Interesting red color.

Style: Imperial IPA.
ABV: 8%
My thoughts: Smells like a sickly sweet mess. It tastes… I dunno. Like an IPA but it’s gone bad. The flavor is like a typical mildly hoppy IPA with something sweet mixed in, but that sweet thing was maybe sitting in the sun too long and has maybe turned a bit. Strong carbonation, medium body, and a mild finish can’t save what’s fundamentally a bad beer.

Bottle description: Deliciously rich and flavorful, this is a complex brew with an easy going taste. A happy contradiction in a bottle.
ABV: 5.5%
My thoughts: I drank this mofo right out of the bottle. I was in a trivia competition, you see, and losing quite badly. There was no time for glasses! That said, let’s move on to the beer itself. This ale had a very light hop aroma. There’s a mild tartness with a typical hoppy bite. It’s an average IPA that’s a little too bitter at the end for my taste. It’s highly carbonated and feels quite crisp. I wish there was more to say about this, given how much I liked their pumpkin ale, but this is unfortunately a pretty average beer.

Website description: Torpedo Extra IPA is an aggressive yet balanced beer with massive hop aromas of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit.
ABV: 7.2%
My thoughts: This is a pretty solid IPA. It’s got a nice, mildly hoppy aroma. It’s a beautiful and somewhat dark amber color. There’s a hint of something slightly sweet and floral that I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s pretty smooth with the typical IPA bite at the end. There’s not much more to say. Its a bit above average with a good hop flavor and won’t let you down, but it’s not one of those beers that really wows you.

Website description: It is brewed in the traditional “old world” manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish.
ABV: 6%
My thoughts: It’s got a hell of a bite! Smells nice, slightly floral. For all of the hop overload at the end, the flavor is actually kind of mild. It’s a pretty good and fairly crisp beer, but if you can’t handle the bitterness of hops, this isn’t for you!
